Organization The Shine Initiative's mission is to combat discrimination and to destigmatize mental health conditions in children and young adults. We do this by providing mental health literacy and stigma reduction education to middle and high schools and to other youth-serving organizations and establishing ongoing youth-led Mindmatters teams in these locations. We are not behavioral health providers but mental health educators who make mental health knowledge accessible to all so that our communities are supportive for all youth, especially during these difficult times. Position The Shine Initiative seeks a full-time Director of Development to lead our ongoing fundraising efforts and work closely with the Executive Director to build a robust fund development plan. This is an exciting new position to our emerging organization; the Director of Development will be a key leader working strategically to continue the Shine Initiative's growth. This role involves organizing numerous fundraising initiatives (i.e., events, match opportunities, peer-to-peer campaigns, etc.), managing Shine's Annual Fund, building relationships with donors, staff and volunteers, and building a small development department over the next few years. This professional must have an established background in coordinating a range of nonprofit fund development strategies (major gifts, grants, planned giving, events, digital fundraising, etc.), possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Shine is a small nonprofit that is growing fast, and our mission is more relevant than ever-the ideal candidate will embrace the opportunity to be the architect of a coordinated fundraising plan and to represent Shine in the community.
