Youth Development Coordinator Are you looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact in our community? The City of Kalamazoo is hiring for a Youth Development Coordinator. The pay ranges from $19.62 to $23.82 hourly. Description/Distinguishing Features Performs a variety of work in the development and implementation of programs for youth, teens, and families, at various community and neighborhood locations, parks, the Youth Development Center and Station 5; does work as required. The Youth Development Coordinator implements and schedules youth and family intergenerational recreation programs, as well as youth development activities; works under the direction of the Recreation Manager. The Youth Development Coordinator takes a leadership role in recruiting and supervising seasonal/temporary employees; coordinates and implements scheduled youth activities; budgets and keeps records on youth and youth programs held at the Youth Development Center and Station 5; promotes programs and disseminates information to the public, neighborhood organizations, and the media. Maintains a good working relationship with the Schools' principals, counselors, and behavior specialists and parents of youth attending programs. This position requires evening and weekend work. Examples of Duties Schedules maintenance for the buildings, assesses need for and orders supplies and equipment for the Youth Development Center and Station 5; Speaks to groups on programs and services; account for monies; works closely with local youth-serving organizations and schools; Coordinates youth intergenerational and entrepreneurial programs; Develops and implements youth development activities/ programs; Ensures timely and accurate communication between the Youth Development Center, Station 5, and the Recreation office; Determines need for, hires, schedules, and trains temporary employees; communicates to the Recreation Manager; Opens, closes, and schedules use of Youth Development Center and Station 5, promotes and advocates for youth development. Essential Qualifications Good knowledge of youth development, program coordination and implementation;
