Postdoctoral Research Associat
We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral research associate to join the research group directed by Prof. Fan Lam in the Department of Bioengineering and Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A successful candidate will be pursuing cutting-edge research on fast, high-resolution multinuclear MRI and spectroscopy on state-of-the-art ultrahigh field imaging systems (human 7T human and animal 9.4T), as well as multimodal, multiscale biochemical imaging of the brain, in collaboration with world-leading experts in analytical chemistry, neuroscience, computational imaging and machine learning. The candidate will also have opportunities to work with neurosurgeons, neurologists, and oncologists at the Carle Neuroscience Institute to translate the imaging technologies for various clinical applications. Specific activities include but are not limited to a) development of novel multinuclear MRI/spectroscopy acquisition methods for in vivo brain mapping; b) development of novel data processing and quantitative analysis methods; and c) development and evaluation of advanced image reconstruction methods. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is an internationally top-ranked research institution. Beckman Institute offers an exceptional environment to pursue innovative, interdisciplinary, and transformative research. The University has recently added a whole-body human 7T Terra (in partnership with the Carle Foundation Hospital) and a Bruker preclinical 9.4T to an already strong imaging program (two 3T Prisma). Many campus-wise research initiatives present unique opportunities for the researchers interested in broadening their horizons and research profiles (e.g., Personalized Nutrition Initiative, Cancer Center at Illinois, Center for Artificial Intelligence Driven Health Data Systems And Analytics, and many others). This position is available immediately and evaluation of applications will continue until the position is filled. For more information and to apply, please send your CV and contact information of two references to Prof. Fan Lam ([email protected]). Required qualifications and skills: * PhD in engineering, physics, chemistry or related disciplines with quantitative backgro
