Essential Job Functions: Limon lab uses pioneering methods to understand electrical and chemical responses of human neural receptors and ion channels in the multiple dimensions of time, space, and domain (gene and protein expression, biophysics, pharmacology, and physiology). By recording the electrical activity of reactivated, native synaptic receptors extracted from healthy and diseased human brains and by integrating this functional information with transcriptomic and proteomic datasets we gain access to processes that are most likely occurring in living human brains affected by neurodegenerative disorders.
