FIREFIGHTER CITY OF BEAVER FALLS Qualified persons are invited to apply to the City of Beaver Falls Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time or Part-Time (Casual) Firefighter in the City of Beaver Falls Fire Department. An application packet can be obtained beginning Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the City Building, Second Floor, 715 15 th Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 between the hours of 8:30 AM & 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. Completed applications must be returned by 3:30 PM, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 along with a $50.00 non-refundable application fee payable the City of Beaver Falls. No applications will be accepted after Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 3:30 PM. REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, be a minimum of 21 years of age, must have Pennsylvania State Fire Academy/Pro Board Firefighter I Certification and Pennsylvania Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), prior to submitting application. Any applicant who possesses an "out of state" certification or license must prove that said license meets national registry requirements. Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, possess a high school diploma or GED, obtain residency within five (5) air miles of the Beaver Falls Municipal Building within six (6) months of hire and be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a firefighter as determined by the physical and psychological testing. Successful applicants must meet all other Civil Service requirements. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Starting salary for full-time firefighter in 2022 per contract is $42,056.16 with an excellent fringe benefit package including three (3) weeks' vacation and three (3) personal days after one year probation, $800 yearly clothing allowance, sick and holiday bonuses, education compensation and reimbursements. TESTING DATE AND TIME The physical agility test will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 and will be conducted at the Allegheny County Fire Academy.
