The Education Coordinator is a critical member of the education department with primary administrative responsibilities for all aspects related to the scheduling of museum as well as virtual visits, education programs and the coordinating of volunteer and/or staff to lead these experiences. Strong communication skills are required to work with schools and community groups, both those who contact us and outreach to others, and to provide Museum Guides with updated information about museum visits, training, exhibitions, and special events. This position is also responsible for supporting grant and development requests by accurately tracking and providing tour attendance figures by school districts, coordinating transportation, and demographic data, as well as supporting Education programming in conjunction with other Education and Curatorial staff. This is a hybrid/remote, part-time, 20 hour per week, non-supervisory position with the opportunity to work fully in-person onsite, in the future following the museums COVID-19 pandemic safety protocol plan, and the hourly rate will be commensurate with experience, and any additional qualifications. While the ability to work a flexible schedule is required, the majority of this position's schedule is Monday through Friday. At times, evenings and weekends will be required, but minimal. Work schedule may sometimes vary to accommodate special events schedule.
