Director of Finance

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) has undergone tremendous artistic and programmatic evolution in recent seasons under the leadership of Artistic Director Davis McCallum and Managing Director Kate Liberman, including the infusion of new and contemporary works for the stage, transfers of HVSF productions to peer theaters, and a major investment in community engagement and art-making initiatives. HVSF is now laying the foundation for its next phase, designing and building its first ever permanent home through a major capital project, acquisition of a for-profit subsidiary, and overall business expansion. The company seeks a Director of Finance to help support this major corporate transition. HVSF seeks a highly motivated and skilled Director of Finance to serve as a chief financial executive at the organization overseeing the expanding financial needs at this exciting point in the Festival's history. They will report to the Managing Director while overseeing and collaborating with HVSF's Controller. Upon its move to a new home, HVSF will become the parent company to a for-profit subsidiary hospitality business. At that time, the Director of Finance will also oversee the hospitality business' accounting manager. The Director of Finance will ensure the financial implementation and reporting for HVSF's $35M Capital Project and Campaign as well as the financial requirements for the acquisition of a for-profit subsidiary hospitality business. This individual will need to ensure the application of all internal financial policies and procedures, as well as GAAP standards and principles. They will provide tracking, reporting, analysis, and strategy for the theater staff leadership and Board.
