Diesel / Automotive Mechanic - 2 nd Shift: Part Time – Evening Hours – 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Flexible) The Diesel / Automotive Mechanic position to perform all work required in the service, maintenance and repair of Diesel and Automotive Landscape Trucks and associated landscape equipment. Position Essential Functions Responsibilities Oil Changes Check coolant levels, transmission levels, hydraulic oil levels, & engine oil levels Power wash radiators Report any issues found Perform tire inspection and tire inflations on all equipment at location. Change tires. Preventative maintenance for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. Uses, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials, parts and other supplies. Maintain shop and work area in a clean and organized manner. Prepare reports and records of time spent, materials, parts used and work completed. Complete work assignments in the allotted time frame Truck Inspection (certified inspector) Qualifications Successful completion of training in automotive technology at an accredited school and/or the equivalent experience as a mechanic in the repair of motorized vehicles and equipment preferred Able to work second shift. Ability to work independently. Ability to read and understand maintenance and parts manuals, and other written instructions related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment. Knowledge of safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, DOT as they apply to the operation preferred.
