Were looking for a journalist who can handle big breaking stories, dig up news and produce deeply reported enterprise stories. The ideal candidate will be able to bring depth and context and lively writing to stories. Essential to the job are strong news judgment and the ability to engage a broad national audience with unique angles on the Washington story. Excellent fact-checking skills and the ability to write quickly under deadline are also among the qualifications we are seeking. The successful candidate will be a team player capable of working collaboratively with editors and other reporters throughout our 30-person bureau as well as with local reporters covering politics across the 250-plus news sites in the USA TODAY Network.
