The Town of Easton is accepting applications for a qualified individual to fill the position of Community Outreach Liaison/Mental Health Counselor , full time, 40 hours per week. The incumbent will be the first to hold this position in Easton, and will have the exciting opportunity to shape the trajectory of this critical community program serving vulnerable and marginalized populations as it is developed and implemented alongside Administration, Police, and Health. The incumbent will be required to work occasional evening and weekend hours. Weekday hours may be adjusted depending on the needs in any given week. Duties include but are not limited to: Assists Police, Fire, EMS and Health and Community Services in identifying and assisting those in the community in need of services Provides de-escalation and assessment of immediate behavioral health symptom and needs Refers individuals to appropriate medical, psychiatric, housing and or other behavioral health services organizations Tracks relevant case referrals and program/patient follow up Attends professional development opportunities and community meetings. Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Social Worker Masters in Social Work strongly preferred. Experience in counseling, advocacy and/or case management for individuals with Mental Illness, Substance Use Disorder and Co-occurring Mental Illness Substance Use disorder required with a minimum of three years' experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
