Campus Safety Officer Student Services Division The Campus Safety Officer reports to the Director of Campus Safety and Security. The Campus Safety Officer will be responsible for providing security and safety on the property of Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Preserve the safety and security by interceding, to prevent or deter crime. Investigate non-criminal incidents to detect safety or security issues, and lost property. Prepare various written reports narrating incidents, supplemental information, and non-criminal activities. Aids and supports the victims of crime, and to all student, faculty, staff and visitors to the Lamar State College-Port Arthur campus. High School Diploma or GED. Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with major course work in related area is preferred. Experience in Safety and Security duties preferred. Requires valid driver's license with a good driving record. Skilled in the use of a personal computer and a calculator. Frequent client/customer contact. Exposure to outside weather conditions. May be required to work either morning, evening, or night with varying days off. Work may involve a degree of hazard. Position is security sensitive and subject to Texas education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
