The associate director will be a vital partner with the director of alumni relations for Alumni and Career Services. The position will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing programs aimed at increasing the engagement of alumni with UR and with each other, with an emphasis on recent graduates and key constituents. This work will be done through campus reunions, virtual programs, social media, collaboration with regional groups, collaboration with University offices, lifelong learning opportunities, and more. Key constituency groups are any set of alumni who share a common prior student experience, interest, identity or purpose, who can be brought together in person or digitally to engage with each other and with the University. This position entails direct management of volunteers, fiscal oversight of the program budget, and all facets related to programmatic management. RESPONSIBILITIES: Recent Graduate and Inclusion Programming Strategy With the director of alumni relations to set the strategic vision and lead staff in developing and implementing shared strategic priorities; monitor and report progress toward strategic goals and objectives. Plan, manage, implement, and evaluate recent graduate and key constituency programming, focusing on market segmentation to revamp current programs and develop new programs, utilizing input from key constituencies including alumni. Evaluate current volunteer structure, identify strategy for volunteer recruitment, and develop stewardship plan for current volunteers. Benchmark events best practices (including process, procedures, policies, and metrics) against similar colleges through phone calls, electronic communication, and conferences as necessary (every 2 years or as appropriate). Model partnership with colleagues in Alumni and Career Services, Advancement, and the University. Lead and direct several major office-wide administrative functions. Examples of functions include: Marketing and technology strategy for alumni engagement, recent graduate and key constituency events.
